In an EW interview, Damon explained: "If we found him fat and happy, you don't really have a movie, so we talked about how getting his identity back in Ultimatum didn't complete things for him. The first trailer that has been released would show Bourne in a fight and there seems to be no way he is living life in serenity. It might turn out that the dream to have a peaceful life may not be achieved. He wanted to live a quieter life so to have peace. The film is actually about secrecy, so there is no doubt that Jason Bourne is living his life away from the noise somewhere in Europe secretly. So in "Bourne 5," he may still be grappling in the dark as to what his identity is. The "Bourne Ultimatum" concluded that he was not Jason Bourne at all. This then leads to the question if "Bourne 5" may be shot in the future. The number of years stated in the film and the number of years that the time passed after the Bourne Ultimatum was released may have a difference. It has been 12 years since he lost his memory and became David Webb.
Jason Bourne's memory comes back he needs to understand what happened in between. This year the curiosity may be fed because Matt Damon will be back as Jason Bourne in the untitled movie Bourne 5 directed by Paul Greengrass.
